Recently I was reminded that I have been on the LinkedIn platform for 18 years. In many cultures, turning 18 signifies the transition into adulthood—where individuals are expected to take control of their lives, make significant decisions, and engage more fully in society. Which in a way feels like a beginning. And as I reflect on an incredible 18-year journey on LinkedIn, I’m filled with gratitude for the connections and conversations that have shaped both my career and personal growth. This platform has served as a remarkable catalyst for sharing ideas, fostering collaborations, and championing authentic stories that resonate across diverse landscapes. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is the significance of speaking up and claiming visibility. In a world overflowing with opinions and noise, amplifying our unique voices enables us to break through the chaos. This year, in particular, I witnessed this strength in action through projects like the 'One Question Project', which gave women a platform to share their entrepreneurial journeys, showcasing the richness of diverse experiences. As well as the ongoing project inviting women of the Lithuanian diaspora to share their stories. By inviting others to contribute their stories, we created a collective wisdom that not only highlights challenges and triumphs but also fosters understanding and connection.

Visibility isn’t merely about being seen; it’s about being heard and valued. That came to light very much during my time at CIEE Amsterdam, as I hold space for students and had a big honour to invite the transformative guest speakers that brought powerful narratives to the forefront. Every speaker offered insights that expanded perspectives and drove engagement. Each voice shared contributed to a larger narrative that emphasizes the importance of fostering inclusive dialogues. Embracing vulnerability was another hallmark of my 2024.

This year taught me that vulnerability is not a weakness but rather a source of strength and connection. Through finalizing the STRIVE Cards and co-hosting a workshop at the BASE Conference and another one with Ausra Vitkute just before the festive season began. All together we created safe spaces for honest expression, allowing participants to explore their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment.

Looking back, I recognize how my role as an educator, artist, and community builder intertwines with these themes. In the classroom, diverse perspectives transformed theoretical concepts into profound, relatable discussions. Whether through photography captured on the pages The Words Faire 'The Feast' or poetry shared in Vincent on Friday - “DREAMS", each project reminded me that creativity is essential for empowerment and self-expression.

As I step into the new year, I am fueled by the desire to continue expanding transformative educational initiatives that bridge cultures. It is not enough to simply have a voice; we must elevate those around us and invite them into the conversation. Each of us has the potential to contribute meaningfully to our communities and to advocate for change. To my fellow colleagues, friends and mentors - a big big thank you and let’s continue to speak up, be visible, and embrace the power of vulnerability. Let’s together hold space, where every voice matters and authentic storytelling inspires change.
