Exploring the Cultural-Business Synergy
Recently, I had the immense privilege of being invited to the National Cultural Forum at Vytautas Magnus University (VDU) in Kaunas organized by the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries. I am always more than excited to take part in the events of this amazing organization (you can read about my previous experience from the last year here) and this time I was asked to support Mr. Jay H. Dick with the unofficial translation duties which allowed me to immerse myself in a vibrant exchange of ideas about the synergy between culture and business.
This event was a gateway to discovering the fascinating developments happening in Lithuania. I witnessed passionate debates on how cultural initiatives can drive economic growth and vice versa. The forum highlighted innovative collaborations and underscored the importance of cultural vitality in the business sector.
One standout presentation was by a group of Lithuanian artists who showcased their successful partnership with local businesses to create public art installations that not only beautified urban spaces but also boosted tourism and community engagement. I was also amazed to meet people working in fields similar to mine and create ties in order to learn more and explore all the amazing movements within.
The forum also featured discussions on the role of digital technologies in preserving and promoting cultural heritage. A tech entrepreneur shared how their company developed virtual reality experiences of historical sites in Lithuania, making culture accessible to a global audience and attracting international interest and investment.
I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity, which not only broadened my horizons but also reinforced my belief in the powerful intersection of culture and commerce. Thank you to Edita and the whole team for this unforgettable experience.
