Mentors & Heroes [photo]
What a truly magical evening we had at the Labyrinth Poetry Night last Sunday, January 26th, 2025! Looking back, I’m filled with gratitude and excitement for having been part of such an intimate gathering that celebrated the mentors and heroes in our lives. The atmosphere was vibrant and warm, filled with a sense of community and appreciation. The incredible host, Tuaca Kelly, welcomed us with her familiar charm, creating an inviting space. It was heartwarming to see so many familiar faces and new friends come together to share in this celebration of storytelling and creativity.
One of the night’s highlights was the performance by the amazing Anthony Myers. Even though I probably am the biggest fangirl which is biased on its own, I found that his storytelling not only brought laughter but also stirred deeper reflections on the important figures who shape our journeys. The way he connected with the audience was a testament to his talent and the energy he brought to the stage. The lineup of artists was truly inspiring. Leonie De Waal’s poetry resonated deeply. Nadine Hottenrott’s blend of knitting and poetry added a unique touch. Each performance reminded us of the diverse ways we honour the talents and wisdom of those who guide us. As the evening unfolded, I had the privilege of capturing moments as the night came to life.
The connections forged through shared experiences and stories were palpable. From the laughter shared between friends to the poignant moments of reflection, every shot I took tells a part of the story of that night. I’m thrilled to share some of these photographs with you, illustrating the spirit and joy that filled the room. These images embody not just the artists in action, but the energy of a community coming together to honor our unsung heroes. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the Labyrinth Poetry Night a success! I look forward to many more nights like this, where we come together to reflect, share, and celebrate those who inspire us every day. Until next time, keep honouring your mentors and heroes!
