Book recommendation: “What White People Can Do Next” by Emma Dabiri
I got this book recommended by a dear friend and was quickly drawn into authors insightful yet surprisingly radical texts (she has also published a book called "Don't Touch My Hair" back in 2020). This book is where historical context meets the contemporary commentary and it's all provided in a very easily accessible way. While most of the other anti-racist guides aimed at well-meaning white people on the market tend to focus on micro-aggressions, unpacking privilege, and individual ways of being less problematic, Dabiri pushes us to reject the increasingly neoliberal trend of inclusivity and join together in a truly coalitional politics that may actually be able to address institutional racism.
I am also curious if you have read any of Emma's books and if you would like to share your insights in the comments?! 🧡
